With a heart for her extended family, Cara’s social work journey began in 1996 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Washington. Cara’s goal back then was to learn the Child Welfare system and get her extended family out of foster care. Twenty plus years later Cara continues to find a reason to labor in the Child Welfare field.
Cara brings her experience as a State social worker, a sister of four adopted siblings from the Washington State Foster System, a daughter of former Washington State Foster parents and a mother of two teen boys to her current position. Training foster parents is both rewarding and full of laughter for Cara. She looks forward to meeting those that find purpose in being foster parents.
