Learn in the classroom and in the field

If you are currently employed by the Children's Administration or you are a MSW student, you may be interested in the Child Welfare Training and Advancement Program or CWTAP, which prepares employees or prospective employees for social work practice in child welfare.

CWTAP students complete their practicum experiences in selected Children’s Administration (CA) offices in Washington state, where they receive specialized practicum training and hands-on casework experience. Students admitted to CWTAP receive financial assistance. After graduation, they seek employment with the Children's Administration and agree to work for the same period of time for which they received assistance.

For more information, contact the UW School of Social Work CWTAP, University of Eastern Washington CWTAP, or the UW Tacoma CWTAP depending on your location and interests.
