This course will cover the core principles of trauma informed care in working with dependent youth and young adults, engaging youth in their case planning and working with caregivers in supporting the youth’s educational success, permanency, progress to independence and well-being. This course will address policy requirements related to working with adolescents and identify resources to meet those requirements. Participants will be given the opportunity to practice quality health and safety visits to elicit youth participation in planning and improve the quality of documentation in court reports.
