Janell began working for the Department of Children, Youth and Families in 2008 and spent her first five years at DCYF as a social worker in CFWS and CPS. Janell was promoted to CPS supervisor in the Snohomish County Indian Child Welfare Office in 2013. In 2015, Janell transferred to South Snohomish County where she supervised a unit of CPS, FRS and FVS workers, as well as a specialized CPS position stationed out of the Child Advocacy Center, investigating the most severe cases of abuse and neglect of children in Snohomish County. Janell was promoted to the CPS Quality Practice Specialist for Region 3 in 2018 and became an Alliance coach in 2019. Janell earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Seattle University in 2005 and a Master of Social Work from the University of WA in 2008.
