Sandy began her work with the State of Washington in 1995 with Juvenile Rehabilitation Administration and then went to Children’s Administration in 1999 as a Child Protective Services (CPS) social worker in the Everett office. She held many positions in Region 2 including; CPS and Children and Family Welfare Services (CFWS)social worker, Kidscreen (Child Health and Education Tracker (CHET)) specialist, Family Team Decision Making (FTDM) facilitator, Supervisor of Intake, CPS, FRS and CFWS, program supervision of FTDM facilitators and CHET screeners, program administration over Behavioral Rehabilitation Services (BRS), CPS, FTDM, CHET, Disproportionality, Indian Child Welfare (ICW) Liaisons, Father Engagement and Education Liaisons. Most recently Sandy has been involved in the implementation of Family Assessment Response (FAR) both as a Regional and Statewide FAR program manager. Throughout her Children’s Administration work experience Sandy has developed strong community partnerships, including veteran parents and sees these partnerships as an intricate part of the work in Children’s Administration. She is passionate about coaching and training new social workers to provide the best opportunities for new staff and the families they serve.
