Mental Health: In-Depth Applications for Child Welfare
This training provides an overview of successful case planning for children in foster care. The course will:
- Assist in referring to the mental health services
- Assist with the use of screening tools
- Describe characteristics and behavior indicators of developmental and mental health concerns, use of psychotropic medications with children in foster care, and case management techniques with mental health service providers
- Describe the elements and criteria of Evidence-Based and Promising Practices, and matching available EBP’s with specific client needs.
This course will also describe key signs, symptoms and impacts of trauma, disrupted attachment, and childhood adversity and ways to incorporate trauma informed care into their day-to-day work.
